You’re a winner! And you’re a winner! Everyone is a winner!

South Beach is proud to have hosted every single winner of every single season of RuPaul’s Drag Race! And the fun rolls on!

On Saturday night, February 18, it will be double your pleasure and double your fun! (Those of you close to my age will remember this Doublemint gum slogan from many years ago.) On that night, not one winner, but two RPDR winners will grace the South Beach stage.

And not just any two winners. They will be none other than Alaska, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 2, and Sharon Needles, winner of Season 4. On this one night only, these two queens will appear together for the first time on the South Beach stage.

RuPaul’s Drag Race has never seen a power couple quite like these two. If you don’t already know, they really were a couple in real life. Their four-year relationship started via MySpace in December 2009, and they remained a couple until 2013, when they ended their relationship. The two, however, have remained friends.

Sharon Needles, of course, spooked the competition during Season 4. A fan favorite, Sharon is known for her “ghoulish” fashion sense and unconventional make-up choices as well as her quick wit, confidence and humility. Fan voting certainly was a big factor in the selection of Needles as the winner of her season. Fans were asked to voice their opinions on which of the top three (Needles, Chad Michaels, or Phi Phi O’Hara) was their choice for the crown. Three different outcomes were filmed in front of a live audience, with only a select few knowing the actual results. The finale episode was aired on April 30, 2012, when it was announced that Sharon Needles had indeed been crowned.

In November 2012, Logo announced that Alaska Thunder f*ck was among 14 drag queens competing on Season 5 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, but would simply be known as Alaska. He had
previously auditioned every season for the show, including Season 4, which was won by his then-boyfriend, Sharon Needles. Alaska credits Divine, Britney Spears and Marilyn Monroe as influences, while his drag character’s backstory revolves around being an alien who crash-landed from the planet Glamtrom! Alaska, along with fellow competitor Roxxxy Andrews, finished in the runner-up spot to Season 5 winner Jinkx Monsoon.

In 2016, Alaska returned to Drag Race for All Stars Season 2. She received some backlash due to some of her choices of eliminations and her behavior towards the end of the competition. In response to this backlash, Alaska donated $5,000 to the charity Trans Kids Purple Rainbow and posted an apology video online. In the season finale that aired in October 2016, Alaska was crowned the winner of All Stars Season 2.

On Saturday night, February 18, there is sure to be glorious camp, sickening shade and a whole lot of fun! These two queens have never performed together in Houston, so this is one show you do not want to miss! See their show stopping performances beginning after midnight, followed by an autograph and photo shoot party.
